			<title><![CDATA[1956 Matchless G11 Sport Twin]]></title>
			<description><![CDATA[1956 Matchless G11 Sport Twin - The G11 was manufactured from 1956 until 1958.  The AJS equivalent is the AJS 30.  It is basically
a G9 (500cc) bored out (to 600cc) with a higher compression ratio.  US models of the Matchless typically have a red tank with chrome inlays while AJS's have a blue tank with chrome inlays.
New in 1956, these sold for approximately £260.

In 1957, the tank design changes.  The '56 models had the tank surface chromed and painted.  In '57, the tank is painted and the panels are chromed and attached with screws.  The bike above is a '56 with a '57 tank.]]></description>
