Great page! I'm a member - have a 56 AJS model 18CS (orig. Rickman frame) and a new 58 AJS model 31, both of which I race in AHRMA. Looking for a model 14CS or G2CS to restore and race, replacing my 64 BSA C15 (Nat'l int. champ 1997), and completing my collection. Also have 53 G80CS basket I will eventually restore. Thanks, dave

I got the bike restored in 1992.There are some very good mechanics here who do a wonderful job. Labor is not expensive but parts are difficult to find.

I have a 1956 AJS 16MS (350CC) bike since 1976 and a 1963/4 Matchless G3 (350CC) since 1980 which I bought brand new. This bike was sitting in a shop in Sibu, Sarawak (island of BORNEO), since 1964 unsold. I paid the equivalent of US250.00. It's since covered over 6000 miles only and still has the original paintwork. I'd like to hear more of your club or from it's members. I enjoy going for rides with my wife, Shashi. Cheers. Very nice presentation, My wife Katie and I have been members of the AJSMOC club for quite a few years. We have a 1956 Matchless G-11 that is in a "sportsman" configuration (some thing that Frank Cooper had imported - I found this out via Neil Peacock who furnished me with the info from the club archives. We also have a selection of other bikes- a Norton 750, a Triumph Daytona, two BMW's, and of course the odd selection of Honda (though they all date from 1963 to 1978, so are vintage as far as Japanese goes. We live on Vashon Island i Puget Sound in Washington State and are members of the VME (Vintage Motorcycle Enthusiasts), and the Northwest Norton club.We were in New Zealand during March of this year (1998) and had the priviledge to attend the NZ Jampot Rally in Taranaki - lots of NICE people . Are working on returning in 2000 -not sure yet, but will contact Kevin and our friends in NZ when we have worked out the details.

I sold my 58 AJS 500 in 68 or 69 through an ad in the Toronto Star. I think the serial number was 58 18CS 2905. I am really curious to know if it is still on the road etc. Has anybody out there seen this bike?

In the '60's I owned a '62 Matchless G80CS. In the mid-'70's I found a '52 AJS 18s. I found it in a small town in New Mexico where I lived...Silver City. Apparently, there used to be a dealership there. I restored the AJ and kept it until about five years ago, when I sold it. The person I sold it to still has it and wants to sell it back to me. I miss it and may take him up on it. I also had many NOS Lucas stuff that I aquired in the mid-'70's. Had an original manual also. If i re-buy the machine, I can get all of this stuff back. The machine is in very good condition. If anyone is interested, E-mail me.

This request is on a friends behalf. He came across a complete 1950(?) Matchless motor/tranny at a garage sale for $20.00! He would like to know more about the motor ( ie. history & literature). The serial # is 59 / 31CS(R)X0518. The "R" is above the of the letters & numbers but falls "between" the "S" & "C". If any one could help it would be greatly apperciated.

Much appreciation to Wayne for all his work on this site. My 1961 G80CS is for sale due to too many bikes and too old to kick them. The G80CS is in excellent condition and goes with several hundred pounds of new and used spares. Check with John Deiderich for verification. Interested? Perry

My husband's great grandfather was AJS. (By the way, J was for John not Jack as a couple sites list). The family home is being shut down and we've acquired a stack of old pictures, programs from races on the Isle of Mann and a couple of marketing pieces along with a great picture of the "Blessing of the Machines" in an anglican church. Would anybody be interested in having them? We're not motor cycle fans & don't really want to keep them.

Keen to correspond with other owners of similar bike who are crazy enought to put them on the track. Cheers mates.
