Very nice site. I owned a 1953 Matchless 600 (?) twin while in high school. It had the original megaphone mufflers, which had been gutted. It made the most beautiful sound I have ever heard. That was a long time ago, but I still have fond memories of that bike! (I'm 64 now).

Would like to see pictures of both sides and at angles. This is best for use in restoring. Also pictures taken with a flash or turned into the sun are so much more usful and visually pleasing rather than a large black blob in the middle of the bike. this web site and our news leter is so impressive, I love being a member.

After buying a BSA Victor 441 new in 1969 and riding it for over one year I gave it to my wife and bought a like new 1968 G80CS. We rode those bikes all over colorado and even hit the road cross country. I don't know how many miles we put on them since those big singles vibrated the speedometers to death rather quickly. Now all these years and many motorcycles later my fondest memories are of my Matchless throbing and shaking as I rode into the sunrise on the open road. I am now looking for a Matchless embroidered patch to replace the one I bought in 1971. It is so thread bear I'm afraid it will fall apart. And I think a new one is just the thing to complement my 2003 Kawasaki Concours. After all they both are a wonderful red.

Great website. I previously was a member of thr U.K. parent club,a long time ago. Now for the part that will probally send the true enthusiast off the wall. I have owned a 1961 G12/CSR, since 1984. It has sat with me, waiting for the day I will pay it some attention. Things happen over the years, but finally the restoration has started with the help of one of my nephews. My dream is underway. I did most of the research years ago, and have verified, manufacture date, matching numbers and when it arrived in Canada. I have all manuals etc. However, if anyone would like to pass on any advice, i would really appreciate it. I have followed the British Motorcycle scene over the years and have been riding many machines. But never my dream machine. When we were kid's in this part of Canada, we rode a lot of British Bikes. But we took them for granted as the "NEW" generation of bikes were on there way.I really miss the old ones now. All for now. I am going to move forward and hopefully see my little dream come true. Good Luck to you all, and safe riding.

I have a lovely partially restored 1951 Matchless G80. I finally started it over the weekend (after receiving it from the UK in November) and WHAT A TRIP!!! I would like to know where I can get a service manual. The lights do not work and I have no way of troubleshooting. Also, could use a photo or 2 on restoration. Cheers, Steve
