AJSMOC Guestbook July/August/September 1999 Archive

This page contains the July/August/September 1999 postings for our guestbook.

I was checking out the photo section for the first time and saw the picture of a beautiful G85. What memories! I bought G85-225-CS in January of 1967 At Ace Bike Shop In Long Beach Ca. By the way it weighed in at 341 lbs before modifying the frame. I eventually got it down to 312lbs. I used it for District 37 desert event until 1972.

This is a first time attempt at rebuilding a Matchless so I am not very knowledgable about them. Any help greatly appreciated. The bikes are for the most part very complete. I am compiling the official database for the AJS & Matchless Owners Club in the UK of all WD and Pre-war AJS & Matchless motorcycles. I would be very pleased to hear from anyone with one of these machines. Please send me details of the make, model, year, engine and frame numbers. The hope is to start a world wide pre-war section, possibly arrange for parts to be manufactured and to put people in contact who want information and parts. All details you send will be strictly confidential. Do let me know if you are happy to help others with information. Many Thanks, John Tinley

I am looking for a motorcycle club to join in the Windsor/Chatham area in Western Ontario. Thanks for letting me browse your website. Keep up the good work. jen

I had a add in the last Matchless News letter asking if anyone has or knows where I can purchase a primary cover for a 1964 Matchless G15CS. This is a Norton 750 engine. Again I ask if a cover from a AJS or Matchless twin would fit? I can be reach at 1-800-664-4552 XT. 6010 or at e-mail bsajimf@aol.com. Yes I also have a BSA and a Norton and a Honda.
