AJS &
Matchless Owners Club North American Section |
|
| Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) | ||
Q: How does the club membership work? |
| A: Our membership is based on an annual
renewal in December. If, for instance, you joined in July 1998, you would get the back
issues for 1998 and the remaining issues published in 1998. You would then need to renew
in December 1998. We distribute a newsletter 10 time per year and a members list once a
year for an additional fee. New members get the parts/service/literature list as well.
|
| Q: I'm not a club member, but I have AJS/Matchless bike(s) or part(s) that I'd like to sell. How can I contact interested parties? |
| A: The AJSMOC accepts advertisements from non-club members
for the purpose of buying/selling AJS and/or Matchless specific parts. We reserve the
right to publish these at our discretion, if we have the time and space. Contact the
newsletter editor for more information. His name and address is listed at the bottom of
the main page.
|
| Q: I'd like to obtain information on the exact year of my AJS/Matchless motorcycle. How do go about obtaining that information? |
| A: The parent club maintains many of the original factory
shipping records and will research your bike for a small fee. See the parent club
dating page at www.jampot.com/dating.htm
|
| Q: Where can I obtain NOS parts for my AJS/Matchless motorcycle? Do you know anyone who services them? |
| A: As a service to the members, the club publishes a list
of Parts, Service and Literature suppliers. Additionally, both the North American
Section and the Parent Club sell reproduction parts. The North American Section
parts list can be viewed online at our spares page (currently
only offered for sale to club members). The parent club also has NOS and used
parts available as well. The listing of Parts, Service and Literature
suppliers is funded by dues and we do not distribute this list freely. You might
want to have a look at our Links page.
|
| Q: I have a photo of an AJS/Matchless motorcycle. How can I get it displayed on the web site? |
| A: You can email the scanned photo in tiff, jpg, or gif
format to webmaster@ajsmoc.com. You will be contacted about your submission. If the
image is large, please use pkzip to compress the image before emailing it. Also, please
include a description of the bike. All postings are anonymous.
