so sad i did not find you all earlier I am going to sell my '65 matchless next week. I
am tired of storing all the parts and pieces.I was told ten years ago the "tcs"
on the case halves make it rare single cylinder.I am sure some one will make it a good
bike again.Keep up the great site

Probley the most fun was owning a single seat AJS 500 in the 60's I used it winter and
summer it never failed me. I also owned a Matchless 500 CC twin BSA Trimuph, I sure miss
the older Bikes.

Iowned a 64 650 Matchless in the late 60's. I sold it when times were tough but wish I
still had it. I now own a 78 Kawasaki 750B which is as close as I could find to the old
Matchless. I am enjoying your site. Brings back memories.

Nice site! The photogallery gives a good impression of the work done by AJS/Matchless
lovers. The '57 AJS model 30, restored by Ad Coppens just 'pops out'. Nice work!

finished till spring '99 to give here a ride. I often visit your page to check out some

Hello Wayne - I met you a few years ago when I was out riding the Flying ~M~.
I'm fairly inactive these days but still have the bikes. I do still ride my Dutch Army bike 'cuz it doesn't require any polishing!
Nice web page. Sure would have been nice to have this resource back in the early '80s when I got my first ~M~.
Take care...

I'm now into turbo motorcycles, 82 Honda and 82 Yamaha. But about thirty years ago a friend owned what were probably a Matchless G9 and an AJS Model 14. I wonder if those bikes or similar are still in this part of the country (Montana). I would enjoy riding and/or buying one if distance, etc., were reasonable.

Hi. Just bought an AJS 18S last week. It kept going for almost a whole day! The wolly who owned it before me replaced the valves and guides but didn't fit the circlip on the exhaust guide. Visited a frient for a cup of tea - no compression when I wanted to go home! Engine is now in bits but will be back together for the easter weekend (probably won't be able to ride it as the weather forcast is crap!!). Does anybody out there know how to adjust the inlet valve guide oil feed needle??? My manual does not mention it. Please help.

I have a 1961 Matchless 150cc motor scooter. I am the original owner and bought it new. It has less than 3,600 original miles on it and is all stock, except for a recovered seat. I even have the original owner's and parts manuals. I'm moving out of the country and would like help in determining a value for it. I have pictures available to email.
Thanks for your help and this site's existence in the first place!!

Nice to find an AJS on the web, however mine has 4 wheels. It's a 1930 2 seater "Sports" Tourer and is 1 of about 25 remaining examples, most in England but 4 in Australia and 1 in Eire. I formed the Club about 4 years agoso if anyone wants to have further details, please contact me. Of Interest to your members is probably the news that one of our members is Alec Stevens, a nephew of the original A.J.Stevens family.
Keep up the good work.
