Hi, Another Mainland TT Year 1950 has been added to the 1948 & 1949 years on Britain's largest Mainland Circuit where 35000 spectators each year watched all the top racers compete fro Silver Dragons Trophies. www.silverdragons.co.uk (the website to visit) Clubmans racing & sidecar aces too, with all pictures in Galleries never before seen plus apparently Museums & Galleries have no data on it to supply info to queries. Well over 4500 visits have been made in a rather short time & 80% have been from outside Britain. The entire 5.2 miles lap Course still remains intact, plus farms churches, chapels, taverns school remain sealed up as they were when over 250 inhabitants were removed. 1950 Shows a unique 5 photo sequence in the gallery by the David Bailey of his day L A Lusardi showing a AJS 7R from Reg Dearden after Ray Petty had mods shown & listed with the photographs. The photographs lead from action to problem to crash to aftercrash & the rider shown still survives to this day. Worth a peek I suppose, especially to vintage racers enthusiasts. www.silverdragons.co.uk All the best Taff. P.S. I am the guy with the Largest World wide database (not online) Re Horns for Machines & I have a stock of 7000 originals from 1900 (But from 17 yrs ago my restorations waiting list is usually full & never less than 3 months. I do have spares for originals Bulbs in 3 sizes plus brackets & bezels & terminal pieces & studs & domes, but remember there is an assortments of threads for 28 types of Lucas Altettes since 1932 & only if you have the correct hooter for your machine do I allow the spares for sale.

In 1957, back in Guyana, I owned a 1956 Matchless 500cc twin cylinder m/cycle. It was a very distinctive machine with a large winged M on the red tank. It was a joy to ride.

Great photographs on your site. I am planning to buy an early 50s AJS 350cc 16MS which is the bike I used to ride when I was doing my National Service in the Royal Air Force aged 19. Except that now I have to wear a safety helmet and take several government tests!

I road a G9 many miles in my youth, and kept a second one for spare parts...broke the crank end once, but it still got me home...this bike was my first real introduction to major motorcycle mechanics, and competition (endurance Runs). I have pictures and will get them scanned shortly. Well I would like to see Matchboxes and AJ's out for the ISLE OF QUINTE TT TOUR June 30th, hosted by the Candadian Vintage Road Racing Association, just a few miles from the border acessed by Interstate 81. US$ go a long way here, and for $15US, I have a three day program for our mutual long weekend. You get a TOUR finishers award, a day pass to the races, conducted bike TOUR of historic Isle of Quinte, and accomodation information mailed to you,..... and a great three for two deal for you and your buddies. Sunday AM,is the big TOUR for vintage and classic bikes, and Vintage Feature Races with Concourse in the afternoon. We are looking for Canadian Jay Richardson to do very well on a Seeley AJS against the Hondas. Come out and cheer him on. more info and entry form by request to netdavejones@netscape.net or call me at 416 246 0571
